Shift Forks
The shift forks connect the shift tower to the synchronizers to allow the driver to shift gears. There is a shift fork for each synchronizer, the fork is connected to the shift rail that allows the shift fork move back and forth in a straight line.
The G56 transmission has 4 shift forks and rails. The 5-6 shift fork also has two pivot pins that allow the shift fork to pivot so the synchronizer move in the correct direction.
