First Gear

When the clutch is engaged (clutch pedal up), torque is transmitted to the input shaft. The input shaft and input drive gear transfer power to the counter shaft. The counter shaft transfers power to the first driven gear. The 1-2 synchronizer locks the first speed gear to the output shaft. Power is then transferred through the first driven gear to the output shaft.
